Clifford Ofori Agyekum: A Ghanaian cover jazz/soul artist

Clifford Ofori Agyekum is a Ghanaian cover jazz/soul artist. Mellow crooner style to soulful classic tunes. Main admirations are the likes of Nat King Cole, Otis Redding and many more. Growing up in Ghana, music has always been a huge part of my life. There's no Ghana without music; it’s a huge part of our culture. Like most, I grew up admiring the likes of Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Westlife, and many more. My uncle was the main reason for my love for music and singing.

From Ghana to the crooner classics

As I got older, I developed a love for beautiful ballads. I fell completely in love with recreating and emulating that sound. However, it wasn't just a sound; I wanted to recreate that feeling, that emotion. Somehow, that led me to the legendary style of the crooners. I found myself admiring the likes of Sammy Davis Junior, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many more. I was obsessed. That led me to find my own sound, and coincidentally, I found myself being told constantly that I had a similar tone and phrasing to Nat King Cole. My main goal is to spread that feeling and to keep that golden style of music into my generation.

Milestones and collaborations

I had a wonderful opportunity to be part of the blind audition cast for season 21 of The Voice. Although I wasn't able to perform in front of the judges due to the teams being full, I had a wonderful time and learned so much from the other artists, lessons that guide me currently. I was also very fortunate to be noticed by Nat "King" Cole's estate through one of my tribute videos. This remains one of my most proudest moments. I've had small collaborations with other artists, including the likes of Tori Holub, who is a legend in the making in her own right. All my collaborations can be found on my TikTok or Instagram.
